AMC’s Talamasca films in Rochdale

AMC Networks has released its long-awaited addition to Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe series, Talamasca: The Secret Order, which premiered on AMC and AMC+ on 26 October 2025. A UK terrestrial TV release is planned for early next year.

The production was filmed in Rochdale, chosen for its striking and varied locations that perfectly captured the mysterious world of Talamasca. It marks the first major production to film in the town since the launch of the Rochdale Film Office in October 2024.

Iconic sites including Rochdale Town Hall, The Esplanade, and other town centre locations provided cinematic backdrops for the series, which follows the secretive society known as the Talamasca — an organisation charged with tracking and containing witches, vampires, and other supernatural beings across the globe.

Headlined by Nicholas Denton, the series also stars Elizabeth McGovern, William Fichtner, Jason Schwartzman, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Celine Buckens, with guest stars Eric Bogosian and Justin Kirk reprising their roles from Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire as crossover characters.

Renowned for acclaimed series such as Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and The Walking Dead, AMC continues to expand its successful Immortal Universe with Talamasca.

Producers praised Rochdale’s Victorian Gothic Town Hall for its stunning architecture and rich, atmospheric interiors, describing it as the perfect backdrop for the secretive world of the Talamasca. They also expressed their appreciation for the support and facilitation provided by the Rochdale Film Office.
