Since its launch, the Rochdale Film Office has already made a big impact by creating valuable paid work opportunities on film and TV productions in the borough.

Among those to benefit is Luke Thompson, a local graduate who studied Film and Television but struggled to find a way into the industry. Thanks to the support of the Rochdale Film Office, Luke landed paid work experience on a major American TV series that filmed in the area.

“It was so good being on set and learning from really experienced crew,” Luke said. “I couldn’t believe it when I got the role, I’m so grateful to the film office for giving me the opportunity and the connections.”

The Rochdale Film Office continues to work closely with productions and local talent, helping to bridge the gap between training and industry experience — and proving that a foot in the door can lead to something much bigger.
