Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) has announced an exciting new £10.5 million Screen Production Fund, set to launch in early summer 2026.
The Fund will support both inward investment and home-grown film and television projects, helping to bring more productions to the region while also backing local talent. With a strong focus on creating jobs, developing skills and growing the industry, it’s a really positive step for the whole of Greater Manchester.
This investment represents a major boost for the region’s screen sector. Building on an already thriving production community, it will help create the right conditions for long-term growth and further strengthening Greater Manchester’s reputation as a fantastic place to film.
For Rochdale, this is especially good news. The borough has already developed a successful Film Office, and this new Fund will help build on that momentum, supporting local productions to get off the ground and creating more opportunities for people interested in working in film and TV, including access to valuable training and skills development.
